I’m going in 2 weeks if I can
I promised my daughter last night that I would really try to get out of here in the next two weeks. I have a lot to do to get ready, but she is missing me and wants me to get out there. Besides, I am bringing her car ( So, now I have spent the day sorting through my kitchen stuff and deciding what to take with us and what to leave behind. I’m also shipping 12 boxes tomorrow and will pack up at least another 6-8 this week and mail. I might as well. I know I’ll have two cars to pack up but this morning, I realized that even though it doesn’t seem like a lot of stuff is still here to take, once we start putting it in the cars, there won’t be room for everything. It’s just best to mail as much as I can in advance.
I went out and bought new sheets yesterday. I love buying new sheets! My mom used to insist on washing them before we used them, but not me. I love new sheets and I love using them right out of the packaging. I can’t wait to get to California to try out my new sheets.
My day has been great, I started out cleaning out kitchen cabinets, then I went to get my hair trimmed and “Put back to blonde” from the red hair I so much wanted in April. Actually, it was fun being a red head. I got different kinds of attention. It wasn’t as sexual and obnoxious in nature as the way guys act with blondes. But it was definitely some good attention. Like I was a smart sex object, instead of just a sex object!!! Then I came back home and continued with the kitchen. It was good to look at all of my stuff and get it sorted. I find that I have memories attached to fucking everything! I don’t want to do that! It’s a BIG thanks to Florence………….my dear sweet Mom. Thanks Flo!!
Then I spoke to my sweetheart on the phone most of the day while I was packing and sorting. I was asking him which tools to keep and which to leave behind. Then we packed up some boxes together, me telling him what I was putting in them. It is fun to at least have him on the other end of the phone. My God, what would we do if we had to pay for long distance by the minute!! That would be an astounding bill. One that I wouldn’t want to have. Thank God for monthly flat rate long distance. pay for it whether you use it or not. That’s a brilliant marketing plan.
Well, more on the move tomorrow and definitely a recap of how my client meeting goes. Please pray that it goes good and that I will be allowed to work remotely, or at least give it a try. I want to go to California and I want to keep my job in Ohio. What a dilemma!

Heavenly Thoughts
Heavenly Thoughts
Set the date!!
I’m moving to California mid-October!! Everything is all set. I still have lots to do to get ready, but you know me, I have my project plan all made out and have set dates for things to be completed by. I’ll get it done! I always do!
I am going to have a moving sale in a couple of weeks. I have furniture and some household items to sell. I’m not taking anything large with me, no furniture, we already bought what we need. So, tell me what you need and I might have it!!
Hoping to have the job situation resolved by the time that I move. That would give me some piece of mind, but if I don’t it’s ok, I’ll find something once I’m out there. I’m making connections and contacts all the time and I’ll continue to do so. I am usually pretty good at the job search, so I should be ok.
I’ll miss Cincinnati and all of my friends, but I’ve lived here my entire life and I’m ready for a change. This is the best change that has ever happened to me. I can see how all of my life’s experiences have prepared me for this time in my life. I have great kids, a great guy and a great career. What else could I ask for???? My life is FINALLY complete.

Home Alone
Home Alone!!
This morning, my youngest daughter left home to go live in California. She left ahead of me, getting into school and a job before I get out there. She was excited but a little nervous. I don’t blame her. I am staying behind while she is braving a new world alone. I’m so proud of her. I also understand her feelings. It’s a big world out there and she will definitely be challenged to make new friends, to judge them to be good friends, to find a new job, and to settle into school ok.
My fiancĂ©e is totally excited about her getting out there. I kind of see it like this: he’s been alone for quite a while and now he will have someone there living with him. Someone he can cook dinner for, help take care of if needed, watch tv and go to movies with her, shop with her. He’s looking forward to “having a daughter” around. He never had a daughter, he only had boys, so he’s in for a treat! Afterall, I think my daughter is AWESOME! He’ll enjoy just having some companionship. And I’ll be coming along shortly.
So, in the meantime, I’ll be home alone! I’ve never been home alone before without living with someone. I’ve either had roommates, boyfriend, husband, kids, or parents. I will probably like it, but this morning, I didn’t like it very much. I cried at the airport without her knowing it, while I watched her walk through security. I watched her as long as I could see her, which was until she walked through the metal detector. She made it through just fine, I watched her pick up her bags and then I couldn’t see her any longer. I stood there and realized that I was all alone.
My son is out of town, but will be back on the 21st, however, he is living with a friend in an apartment. My oldest daughter lives on her own. It’s just me and the cat and the grass growing.
I am nervous and won’t be satisfied until I hear from her safely on the ground in Fresno, in his truck on her way to the house. Her flight to Fresno is in flight, so she’ll be there in about an hour.
I’m off to cut the grass while I’m waiting to hear from both of them. Wow, just think, I have had her with me for nearly 19 years and in an instant, she’s gone and living with him…isn’t life strange???

moving early
well, it looks like I’m at the point where I’m making decisions based on my heart and not on the common sense facts. what I mean here is I’m actually thinking of leaving my house empty and moving to California, find a job, almost any job, as long as I can maintain paying for my house from there until I sell it.
I’m not sure how smart that is, but I do know that I can’t keep this up. I am missing my man so much and now my daughter will be there and I’ll be missing her. I just think that it’s going to get to me. But I have a lot to think about – an empty house isn’t so easy to take care of, something could go wrong. The pipes could freeze with no heat on, critters could get inside and that could present a problem, something could start leaking and I wouldn’t even know about it. I could have my oldest daughter and best friend take turns coming over and checking on things. It just would suck to have to keep paying for my house for a long time from California. I wonder if there isn’t another alternative.
If you have any ideas, please help me. I either need a really good job to go to in California or I need someone that is interested in short term renting to live here until the house sells. Someone that will take care of it just like I do. hmm. That will be hard to find.

Blogging
Blogging
I’ve been asked to participate in a workshop/presentation on blogging with other bloggers in the Cincinnati area. Some of them blog for work and some for personal, like I do. We are going to be asked to talk about the blogging tool that we use and what it can offer people. I found Blogger and it was so easy to set it up, configure the GUI, plus they add in all new cool little features, like ability to blog from email, blog from mobile phone, and the latest new thing I’ve downloaded is the ability to blog from Word. That’s cool, it’s easy and I’m testing it right now.
I’m gonna pick a funky font and see if it will take the font settings with it. Anyway, I’m just playing around. I gotta get going out into the big beautiful world today, my daughter is leaving for Calfornia tomorrow, so I have errands to run!!

I'm Engaged!!!!.
I'm ENGAGED!!!!!
OH MY GOD!!!! It actually happened!!! I came to visit my love, arrived in California last night. As soon as we got home, he sprung a small jewelry box on me! He put his arm around me while I looked at the box. I was totally caught off guard. As I was opening it, he asked me if I would wear this ring for the rest of my life! Wow!! You should see it! It's amazing. He then told me that he would love me every day of my life. And you know what? He's already loved me every day since that fateful summer when we met in the bakery....so why would he stop now?! He wouldn't.
The ring is so wonderful, it's white 14K gold band holds a beautiful diamond solataire with a med wide band that has 2 rows of 7 diamonds on each side!! It's gorgeous! It's fantastic! It's so sparkly and I am so overwhelmed.

It is not even the beginning of the end.
But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
