Things I am going to miss about Cincinnati

Things I am going to miss about Cincinnati:

  • My KIDS!!!  I’m gonna miss my girls!!  I love my girls so much….it’s gonna be so weird to not have them around me all the time.

  • My friends - I love them all! I have so many wonderful friends and they have been so good to me over the years. We’ve really had some fun!!

  • My house – it’s a great house, we had a great life here – so many good times, lots of teenagers here, lots of good cooking.

  • My job – I just love it too! I hope that it works out that I can work there again one of these days!

  • Downtown – I love Cincinnati, the arts, the clubs, the restaurants, the social events, shopping and especially the Carew Tower. I have always loved going to the top and checking out the city from high atop the tower. I try to get down there as often as possible.

  • Festivals – I swear Cincinnati is the city of festivals from late spring through early autumn. Every weekend you can find some kind of music festival, arts festival, food festival and combinations!! I run into so many people I know at these festivals and you can drink draft beer (yuck – but it’s only good at the festival!) eat tons of junk and have lots of fun.

  • Restaurants – Cincinnati has some of the finest restaurants around. There is every ethnic food here so a big variety. I love sushi and there are many great sushi restaurants that my friends and I love. Then there’s Thai, Indian – especially Southern Indian, all sorts of eclectic places, bar food, chicken wings, and don’t forget Skyline – even though I don’t eat there very often any more, it’s still a Cincinnati favorite. I’ll miss Jimmy Gherardi’s “new restaurant” whatever it is, not sure what he’s doing, and I’ll miss all the other great chef’s in the city.

  • Shopping – Actually, I don’t think I’ll miss the shopping. There’s just too much shopping here. There’s a mall in every part of town, there are strip malls with the same stores over and over again all around. There’s no excuse to not be able to find something you want and even more stuff you don’t really want!

  • Church – even though I don’t go every Sunday, I will miss our church. I have been going there off and on for 25 years. I don’t socialize much there and I don’t do anything extra any more, but I do love the message and the people and the place.

  • there’s probably more and as I remember stuff I’ll add it on.

I have lived here for my entire life with an exception here and there where I actually did try to get away. I am looking forward to going to California and make a new life with my old love. It’s going to be fantastic – not because it’s California but because it’s him. He’s so great and even though I’ll miss my home town, I will enjoy making new friends, working and spending time with him. I love him with all my heart.

WANNA BUY A HOUSE???

WANNA BUY A HOUSE???
I’ve got a great one for sale:
http://remax.realtor.com/Prop/1050497285&gate=remax

This house has been a wonderful house for my family. We have had so many fun times here, the house has good KARMA, and has always been filled with love. It’s a great neighborhood, there is some privacy and the neighbors are nice! They pretty much leave us alone, but are friendly at the same time.

My kids have had tons of people over for sleep overs, movie nights, karaoke, graduation parties, prom nights, basketball celebrations, family reunions, Wed Wine Nights, Friday night parties on my deck. All of these have been fun times. My friends have spent many hours here and everyone loves the house.

There is plenty of room! 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, big living room with fireplace, family room that was a 2-car garage, full finished basement with wet bar, walk out to deck from the main floor, walk out to patio from basement. My driveway is big enough to park up to 8 cars!! Great for growing families or get-togethers.

I hope someone reading this will either be interested or know someone that is interested. I would love for someone that I know in some way to buy it. I’m sure that whomever lives here next will find the peace, love and harmony in this house that we did!  Thanks Reading for a great 11 years!!

Moving Sale today

Moving Sale today!! Come One, Come All and buy my stuff!!

That’s what I hope happens. Funny, I woke up early thinking that my phone would start ringing off the wall this morning. I thought that because I placed the ad in the paper to start on Thursday. My phone rang off the wall Thursday and Friday and I had people come over an actually buy stuff!! I am leaving in ONE WEEK!  It’s hard to believe that the time is already here.

Next Friday night, he’s flying in from California to drive me home. After I get out there and start working, then we’ll sit down with the calendar and set the date. You know me, I have to have a job and money coming in – especially because my house is still for sale!

WANNA BUY A HOUSE?? that’s a separate blog that I’m going to post in a while.

Well, I have tons of things to do over the next week. I have lots of work to wrap up, I have to finish cleaning the house, I have to have the carpets cleaned, cut the grass for the last time – I sold the lawnmower and luckily the guy is letting me use it one last time (  haul away anything that didn’t sell to the Goodwill truck, And I’m sure there’s more that I’m forgetting!!

But all-in-all, it’s gonna be a good week because at the end of it, I’ll get to see ‘my honey’ and my daughter. Then I will be home with him to stay!!

…..and they lived ‘happily ever after’………….isn’t that how the story goes?

Flowers from my wonderful, loving man!! Posted by Picasa

A beautiful bouquet

A beautiful bouquet

Yesterday at work I was totally surprised by a phone call from the security guard out front. He wanted to know where I sit because I had a delivery of flowers. Keep in mind, I’m a consultant and I’ve been assigned here for 6 weeks so far. I asked if he was sure and he said yes.

So, I headed to the security desk and when I got there this is what I found:

(image placeholder)

They are beautiful! A dozen of long stemmed yellow roses. I was so surprised and of course I had a HUGE smile on my face. I got back to my desk and read the card. They are from my fiancée for no reason other than he loves me! I was tickled to death!

Im going in 2 weeks

I’m going in 2 weeks if I can

I promised my daughter last night that I would really try to get out of here in the next two weeks. I have a lot to do to get ready, but she is missing me and wants me to get out there. Besides, I am bringing her car (  So, now I have spent the day sorting through my kitchen stuff and deciding what to take with us and what to leave behind. I’m also shipping 12 boxes tomorrow and will pack up at least another 6-8 this week and mail. I might as well. I know I’ll have two cars to pack up but this morning, I realized that even though it doesn’t seem like a lot of stuff is still here to take, once we start putting it in the cars, there won’t be room for everything. It’s just best to mail as much as I can in advance.

I went out and bought new sheets yesterday. I love buying new sheets! My mom used to insist on washing them before we used them, but not me. I love new sheets and I love using them right out of the packaging. I can’t wait to get to California to try out my new sheets.

My day has been great, I started out cleaning out kitchen cabinets, then I went to get my hair trimmed and “Put back to blonde” from the red hair I so much wanted in April. Actually, it was fun being a red head. I got different kinds of attention. It wasn’t as sexual and obnoxious in nature as the way guys act with blondes. But it was definitely some good attention. Like I was a smart sex object, instead of just a sex object!!! Then I came back home and continued with the kitchen. It was good to look at all of my stuff and get it sorted. I find that I have memories attached to fucking everything! I don’t want to do that! It’s a BIG thanks to Florence………….my dear sweet Mom. Thanks Flo!!

Then I spoke to my sweetheart on the phone most of the day while I was packing and sorting. I was asking him which tools to keep and which to leave behind. Then we packed up some boxes together, me telling him what I was putting in them. It is fun to at least have him on the other end of the phone. My God, what would we do if we had to pay for long distance by the minute!! That would be an astounding bill. One that I wouldn’t want to have. Thank God for monthly flat rate long distance. pay for it whether you use it or not. That’s a brilliant marketing plan.

Well, more on the move tomorrow and definitely a recap of how my client meeting goes. Please pray that it goes good and that I will be allowed to work remotely, or at least give it a try. I want to go to California and I want to keep my job in Ohio. What a dilemma!
