Healing Right Along.........

Healing is move right along. I am feeling better and better every day. And on Monday, I go under the knife again....the Dr. is going to correct my toes to match the corrections he made to my ankle. I am anticipating a quick recovery and getting back to where I am now quickly.

Hope all is good..........

Double Arthroscopy

Surgery was almost 3 weeks ago. The first week was a week of figuring out how to get around on one leg, with the help of my knee roller. I was pretty crabby at first, I tried not to be, but I think part of it was the pain medication. I've learned to get up from a variety of seating on one foot, keeping my balance and not putting my cast on the ground. Recovery is 3 months - non weight bearing......only 9 weeks to go!!!  (yikes)

I've been to the Dr's office 2 times now. Xrays both times, pink cast first time, yellow cast second time, seen the Dr. and he's been very positive about the amount of correction and the healing process. He's going to do a quick procedure in a few weeks to tweak how my toes will hit the ground. He just wants to be sure everything is lined up correctly when I walk later.

Going back to work tomorrow. Hope that works out. Hubby has to drive me everywhere we go, hope his health stays good!!!

Happy Birthday America!

It's the most patriotic time of the year! I love July 4th. I love the parades, the fireworks, the grillouts, but most of all I love my oldest daughter's birthday is July 2nd. It has always made the holiday that much more special! When she was young, we would always incorporate a birthday party with the 4th grillout. She always got a cheesecake (her favorite) and everyone loved it! We have gone on canoe trips, camping, trips, parties, parades and all with a central theme: Happy Birthday America and Tamara!!

She will be 35 this year (OUCH! I'm getting older!!) and I have some of the best memories of my entire life around July 4th holidays. She was born on America's Bi-Centennial. She's my patriotic baby, I love you Tamara! Happy Birthday!

Mothers Day

For Mother's Day my hubby bought me a Kindle!! Much better than flowers and jewelry (I can't believe I said it's better than jewelry!). I am loving it and will write more about it.

It's a miracle

My husband's kidney transplant is a success (so far!!)!!!  He got his test results back this morning and his creatinine numbers are in the NORMAL RANGE!!!  They may have not been in the normal range ever. This is truly amazing and a miracle!!

Thanks be to God who put made this possible by quickening the heart of the donor. To the donor, we will always remember you and pray for you and your family daily. To God, You are incredible, awesome, loving, fantastic, all-knowing and PERFECT!  Thank you for loving us!!

My husband's kidney transplant

We are all abuzz at our house as we get closer to the kidney transplant date. Today, we spent most of the day at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He had pre-admission testing, meetings with the transplant coordinator, learned what to expect in the next week, the day of the transplant and the next 90 days afterwards.

We are very excited and thankful to have this opportunity. We're glad to live in a time when organ transplants are even possible, much less "common place". It's truly a miracle.
