Reconnecting with friends

It's so important to keep in touch with your friends. Even a quick phone call or email can do the trick. Everyone seems to be SO busy and time is of the essence, but think of time wasted that you could spend with a friend.

Reach out this weekend, be a friend!

A Heart For God

I have run into some very interesting people on Twitter over the past 6 months or so. Some I follow because they are local to Cincinnati friends, colleagues, networking buds; some I quit following because they are just too radical for me; some I only know via Twitter but they tweet good content both political and uplifting (encouraging, Christian messages).

One of those is A Heart For God. He calls himself Pastor Mike. Don't know if he is a "pastor" in the true sense of the word (you know, has been ordained, has a church building where the body of Christ meets, etc.) but I do know he has quite an online following. He is on every social media outlet on the Internet with over 20K followers. He may be one of the first Pastors that I've heard of that leads a "virtual" church.

I've read quite a few of his posts and find they are very insightful, encouraging and uplifting. Seems his target audience is men, which as a Christian woman, I can really appreciate someone targeting men to encourage them and teach them the way God wants them to be. He posts teaching series, music, sermons, his blogs, other Bible sources.

I'm linking to this particular post: the 10 Commandments of Blogging -- If Moses was a blogger, what would the 10 commandments look like.  It's fun to read and like most of his posts, enlightening. Thanks Pastor Mike!!

I thought I'd share him with everyone, since I enjoy reading his messages and tweets. I hope you enjoy him as well.

Wonderful Saturday

Today was a perfect day. I didn't HAVE to be anywhere which made all the things that I got done today, things that I WANTED to do! How wonderful. I haven't had too many days like that lately at all.

You know, I feel so blessed as a result. I worked in my garden, I spent time relaxing, hung out with my hubby, spent time talking to my oldest daughter and that meant the world to me. It's just a wonderful day and I pray that the night is continuation.

I upgraded my iPhone's OS to 3.0. I am already loving the few things that I saw. Gonna dig into it deeper. My hubby is calling, gotta run!!

No posts in so long!

wow, I haven't posted in so long, I can't believe it.

I should be able to start, I have passed my PMP certification, so I have more time. I've planted my garden, already taken vacation for the summer, and am planning on just working alot this summer. So I should have time to check in daily for a few and start my blog up again.

Good intentions, you know!

Going to meet Abigail

well, tomorrow's the day I get to finally meet Abigail. I will have lots of pictures and videos to post by the time I get home next week!! It's going to be wonderful! And I know no matter how much time I have with her, it won't be enough.

A darling new baby girl....what more do I need to say? I love her and haven't even seen her yet!

Day 2 of my love affair with my iMac

Today is Day 2 of my Apple ownership. iPhone, iPod, and iMac, plus my hubby and kids all have either an iPhone, iPod and iTouch. We are truly an Apple Family. And why not, the products are good and we're totally happy with the performance.

And I am leanring about my iMac, trial and error in some cases, but nonetheless am learning. Need to watch some instructional videos, just didn't have time yet. Probably over the weekend.

iMac

THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COMPUTER I'VE EVER OWNED!! Wow, I've owned pretty many computers:
1. my first one was purchased at a  computer store and was built by some Russian guys - too nice and they got it all set up for me. I ended up using that for a couple of years. Ran w3.11
2. then I built one myself - lasted a while, ran w3.11 then w95
3. then I had a laptop - well-travelled, w95
4. then another desktop - this time an HP - piece of total crap, wME - so it was a crappy computer with a crappy OS - a pain in the arse!!
5. then I bought my dell - have had it the longest, bought it end of 2003 - wXP Pro, then XP Home, then a new harddrive with XP Home, then another crash, so I'm putting Ubuntu (Linux) on it now
6. have an old IBM laptop - needs some work
7. now I have an iMac!! it's wonderful. I just got it today.

The transition is nice, right now I'm getting my iPod, iPhone and his iTouch all set up. Been playing around and will be copying my photos over tonight too!! Music, photos, the most important things ;)
