I went to pick up carry out Friday night from one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I don't want to name it because this really doesn't have anything to do with the restaurant specifically. The restaurant is in a strip mall and there are tons of shops right by it.
When I was coming out of the restaurant and walked in front of the realtors office I saw a long tail scurry into the bushes and then it turned around and scurried tail, body, whiskers and nose past me as it ran across the sidewalk into another set of bushes. You know, there's one thing that you don't want to see when you walk out of a restaurant and that's a rat!! YIKES!!

Happy Halloween
ok, on a lighter note: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I want to give give other updates from my Cincinnati trip - so here's a list of some of the fun things that happened while I was in town!!

- the wedding - the most BEAUTIFUL part
- seeing my kids every day that I was there - that was the BEST part
- staying at Sherry's house - that was the other BEST part
- seeing some of my cousins - chatting, catching up and missing them!
- seeing my ex-in laws was too much fun!
- the wedding rehearsal dinner was a blast - party from the moment I got there until I left
- seeing Jake's high school buds
- seeing Kim and getting my hair done
- seeing some of my other Reading friends and talking to Tom
- watching the Bengals WIN at Frickers with my family and friends
- sushi dinner at Korea House with my friends and kids
- got to see it snow FLURRY.........bbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!
- driving by my old house and realizing that what I like about it was the trees in the neighbors yard and they are gone, so I really don't like the house at all.
- tooling around in NO traffic
- eating a REAL Skyline Chili Cheese Sandwich
- wondering why the BP stations were going out of business
- eating cake at Dawn's that was served in a kitty litter pan!! - FUNNIEST part
- hugging and kissing everyone!!
- driving around Milford, wondering what it would be like to move back there to live. In Milford, affordable, less traffic, better housing prices, familiar doctors, all my friends, my family, his family. Sure is a nice thought for down the road........Some people retire to Sunshine - we'll be one of the few that retires to the MIDWEST!!

terrible accident
not sure if this story will make the paper, but I'm going to try to follow up. We left our house this morning for work (me) and school (Beka). She drops me at work and then heads to school. It actually works out pretty good most mornings. We get time together in the car for about 20 min or so and start the day right!!
So this morning was different. VERY different. We were only a couple miles from our house on the main road, heading west to I-5 when in front of us we saw something fly off of this truck in the other lane. I only saw it out of the corner of my eye and I thought it was a blown tire, until we got a little closer. It wasn't a tire at all - it was a MAN ON A BICYCLE!! The truck hit a man on his bike in the bike lane and was probably traveling at at least 55 MPH, maybe more. IT WAS BIZARRE AS HELL!! We were both so freaking out!!
People pulled over to help out, and fortunately the truck that hit the man pulled over. We couldn't, we were in the fast lane and traffic prohibited us from pulling over to the right. We did call 911 and that was an experience of its own!

got a recording in English and then Spanish
put on hold
4 minutes later, an operator answered
the operator didn't speak very fluent English, or had some issue listening/hearing because they kept saying the intersection we named did not exist - kept repeating everything my daughter said, but FINALLY understood everything.
The whole 911 experience was even more upsetting because it took so long to answer the phone. My God, I just hope and pray I or my family doesn't have a REAL emergency - I fear for our lives!
I prayed for this gentleman on the bike and I ask that you do too. I doubt that I will ever know what happened to him, but I know that God answers prayers.

Jake's Wedding and the Trip to Cincinnati
Totally was too much fun!
The weather was PERFECT!! Blue Skies, green grass, warm winds, sunny - perfect for an outdoor wedding! The bride was beautiful, the groom handsome, 5 attendants each, 150 guests and a hall - all planned and executed in 3 weeks! I'm proud of them for pulling this off so quickly and even prouder of how wonderful the wedding was.
And the reception - even more fun! Music, dancing, good food, cake, family, friends, and everyone happy! It was the best weekend that I've spent in a long time.
I'll write more later, post some pics and tell about the 4 days of fun!!

going to CINCINNATI!!
Jake's wedding!!
Yes, I'm heading to Cincinnati for a long weekend because my son is getting married!! They were going to try to wait until next summer, but after being engaged for 5 months, they decided it's time. So in 3 weeks they have put together a wonderful wedding, with 6 attendants, 150 guests, food, music and all the extras!! I'm proud of them. I don't have to do a thing except show up! Isn't that nice!!
I'm flying out on Friday morning and staying until Tuesday morning when I fly back home. I'll post pictures and more when I get back!
